The 2023 European volleyball championship kicks off with five athletes from Cucine Lube Civitanova competing. Tomorrow, Monday 28 August, the continental review gets underway. The libero Fabio Balaso and the spiker Mattia Bottolo will defend the title won in 2021 by Italy, while the spiker Alex Nikolov will bring a precious haul of points to his Bulgaria, the central Barthelemy Chinenyeze will block the wall for his France and will be the protagonist in the Pool D of the red and white derby with Adis Lagumdzija, Turkey’s offensive end.
There will be 24 selections competing for the Cup which will be assigned on Saturday 16 September. Italy, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Israel will host the upcoming matches: Pool A, four matches of the Round of 16, two of the Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals will be played in Italy. In Bulgaria, on the other hand, Pool B and the remaining matches of the knockout phase will take place; Pool C in North Macedonia, Pool D in Israel. Rich television coverage is coming with Rai (Rai 2 and Rai Sport) and SKY (SKY Sport Summer, SKY Sport Arena) which will broadcast all the Azzurri’s matches.
