Verona Volley is enriched by a figure of international standing for its Youth Sector. In fact, Alessandra Campedelli has entered the technical management structure, who will take on the role of Head of Promotional Projects of the Club at a youth level. A profile that adds experience, competence and prestige to the Verona club, which has entrusted it with an important task with a view to developing and growing the champions of tomorrow. Furthermore, he will be part of the technical staff of the U15, which will also play in the Second Division championship next season.
Campedelli boasts a high level curriculum as a coach, but not only. A native of Rovereto, after a short career as a field hockey player, she took her first steps in the world of volleyball in the second half of the 90s, gaining experience with many teams in the Trentino area, as well as as a technical guide for the women’s representative of the FIPAV Trento, a role he held for ten years from 2004 to 2014. In 2013 he received a call from Trentino Volley to become coach of the youth teams, before moving two years later to Verona, where he remained until 2019.
In 2016 he became coach of the deaf women’s national volleyball team of Italy, with which he won the gold medal at the 2019 European Championships and three silver medals, one at the Olympic Games, one at the World Cup and the last one at the U21 European Championships. Later, she accepted the position of coach of the Iran women’s national team. In these guises Campedelli has the opportunity to participate in the Islamic Games, which culminated in silver (the Iranian selection hasn’t climbed onto the podium since 1956), and in the Asian Cup, where he faced selections of the caliber of Japan, China and Korea South. After the Iranian adventure, he returns to Italy this year and marries the Verona project. Graduated from ISEF and graduated in Sport Sciences and Techniques, in addition to field activity, she is also a physical education and support teacher at the Comprehensive Institute of Villa Lagarina. In the past he taught volleyball technique and methodology at the master’s degree in the Faculty of Sports Science.
“For me it’s like going back to my family – explained Alessandra Campedelli – because here in Verona I spent very good years and built important bonds. I have always remained on very good terms. Gengy (Marchesi, ed) and Andrea Totolo were my classmates at ISEF; so getting back in touch was natural. Verona Volley gave me an opportunity that not everyone in Italy would give in the men’s sector. It will be stimulating to have a daily comparison with coaches of the caliber of Bruno (Bagnoli, ed) and Stoytchev.
