Great Egon Lamprecht. The libero from Sudtirol, born in 1980, 185 centimeters tall, is extending his relationship with Delta Group Porto Viro for another year.

Twelve seasons with the same shirt, more than a flag, Lamprecht is now an institution of the Polesine club. Starting from Serie D – at the time as a spiker – he lived through the entire rise of the nerofuchsia up to the extraordinary third place in the last Serie A2 Credem Banca championship.

It seemed like the worthy epilogue, the culmination of a long and rewarding career. And Lamprecht himself had hinted during the year that he felt ready to hang up his knee pads, perhaps to join the Delta technical staff. Instead, next August he will still be there, at the Palasport in via XXV Aprile, sweating with his teammates to prepare for a new volleyball season.

“I realized that I still enjoy playing sports at a high level and in any case it is always very stimulating – declared Lamprecht on the occasion of the renewal – The Delta gave me the possibility to face a thousand battles and to experience so many emotions, the fact of continuing to playing is also a way to reciprocate, at least in part, what the club has done for me. I was born with this club and probably as long as it exists I will be part of it. I will always face the season with the spirit of a kid, a little carefree and doing the best I can”.

After serving as Russo’s mother brooder last season, this year Lamprecht will share the department with a more experienced player like Morgese: “I think my role will not change, in this category they are all very good – comments the Delta Group veteran – The workouts are of a high standard and the important thing is always to help each other. Honestly, I feel good starting as second free even if you suffer more on the bench than on the pitch. I was a starter for many years so today I no longer feel the need to play all the time. My secret to being ready in times of need? Live the game by remaining focused and attentive as if you were on the pitch”.

With his expert eyes Lamprecht analyzes the Delta Group roster and tries to make the cards for the next A2 championship: “I have the impression that a good team is being born, there are experienced players and other very young players with excellent potential. Repeating last season’s third place in the league will be difficult, but I think we can do better, especially in the Coppa Italia.
