The complaint presented by Farmitalia Catania which complained of a technical error during the tie-break of the last day of the championship ended up in a real soap bubble. The Etna were already behind in the fifth and decisive set when a rotation foul against the home team jumped out from the scorer’s table. Catania deems the foul non-existent and therefore presents a complaint and a request to replay the entire match. A real joke for Lanci & Co. who in the meantime had already pocketed a more than deserved point well before this dispute.

Well, today, December 22, with the Official Communiqué No. 15, the National Sports Judge issued his verdict: Catania’s request was rejected and the victory of Sieco Impavida Ortona approved.

According to the National Sports Judge, “there is no doubt that the Saturnia Acicastello association has not complied with these procedural obligations, first, by relegating the pre-announcement phase of the application to an untitled subject and, then, only verbally confirming this initiative at the end of the meeting”.

In essence, Farmitalia Catania’s complaint was requested at the time, but by a person who was not entitled to do so. Subsequently, this complaint was only confirmed verbally and not in writing as required by the regulation. The result? The National Sports Judge didn’t even consider the Catanese request.

The judge consequently “decided to reject the application presented by the FARMITALIA (SATURNIA ACICASTELLO S.S.D a R.L) association, as inadmissible, with consequent forfeiture of the complaint fee, and to approve the meeting in question with the result achieved on the field”.
