Delta Group Porto Viro prepares heavy artillery for the upcoming Serie A2 Credem Banca championship. In the role of opposite, together with the Pole Krzysiek, the Polesan team also confirms its best scorer of the last season, Giacomo Bellei, known to everyone as “Jack”.
The bomber from Verona, born in 1988, 203 centimeters tall, just last year crossed two milestones that tell a lot about how profitable his career has been up to now: 15 Serie A seasons (of which eight in Super League) and beyond 3500 points scored in the various competitions. In the personal palmares there are also two prestigious trophies, both won with the Verona jersey, the 2008 A2 Italian Cup and the 2016 Challenge Cup.
As mentioned, Bellei was the leading scorer of the Delta Group 2021/2022 in scoring (379 points in the regular season, to which must be added the 27 in the two matches of the Italian Cup for a seasonal haul that exceeds 400) and also closed among the top ten of the Serie A2 Credem Banca championship both for points scored and for the number of winning attacks.
A great player that, however, knows how to give value to emotions and human relationships, as Bellei himself reveals when talking about the renewal with the Delta Group: “When the team offered me to stay in, it was easy for me to say yes, here they have always made me feel at home. In Porto Viro we work well, seriously and with ambition, but for me it is above all the human aspect that counts. There is great mutual esteem between me and the club, and I want to take this opportunity to thank President Veronese, DS Pavan and the whole environment for having been close to me in recent months. Returning this affection and staying to give my contribution to the cause came naturally to me ”.
Bellei or Krzysiek? At Delta Group next year we will be spoiled for choice in the role of the opposite: “I don’t think there will be rivalry between us, but it will still be stimulating for both of us to play for the place during the week – says Bellei – With the roster training and the new coach I think we will have an excellent level of training and this can make the difference in a championship which, with some exceptions, will be very balanced. The goal is to play the playoffs, to be able to get into the top eight we will have to be good at managing the situations and unknowns that will arise during the season. “
