Azimut Modena – Calzedonia Verona is a brand new game for Del Monte Italian Cup, these two teams never met each other in this competition, while they played 29 games in Serie A, with 23 wins for Modena. Will be a balanced challenge between two Gialloblù’s teams, with Modena favourite.
Radostin Stoytchev (Azimut Modena): “Italian Cup is a prestigious event for our club, and the match versus Verona is the real important game for us until now in the season. On thursday we will need to be focused, we will face a tough opponent. I saw Verona play live, they are a complete team, they play clear volleyball, very effective. It’s a no tomorrow game, we have to give more than Castellana Grotte’s game, will not be a game with normal rhythm”.
FORMAT
According to Regular Season 2016/17, the teams from 12°to 14°place (Padova, Sora and Milano) together with rookie team BCC Castellana Grotte start from the 16th final. The winners will play together 5° ’til 11° place teams (Verona, Piacenza, Monza, Vibo Valentia, Ravenna and Latina) in the 8th final. The four winners will play versus the top four teams of last Superleague season, Civitanova, Trento, Perugia and Modena in the Quarterfinals which will take place next 18th october. The winners will advance to the Del Monte Italian Cup Final four next 27th and 28th october 2018.
