Vibo Valentia will begin its playoffs campaign in Potenza Picena, a team already met three times this season, twice in the regular season and once in the cup final won by Vibo. There will be some interesting match-ups like the outside hitters: Moretti versus Gavotto, and the middle blockers: Diamantini versus Presta.
Vibo has on its side a player used to earn promotion: Libero Cesarini did it in 2009 with Loreto, in 2010 with Roma, and in 2012 with Perugia. “Since coach Monti arrived, we have focused our attention on the playoffs – said Cesarini – We are confident. Potenza is a tough team to play, we’ll need to be aggressive from the start with our serve. They are very good in the block-dig area, we’ll therefore need to be extremely patient. We showed our quality in the last game against Corigliano and I think we can make it hard for anyone in the playoffs”.
